# Card details

A card's detail page keeps the work and its discussion together. Open any card to explain the task and see who is doing it.

## Give the next person enough context

For a payment bug, include what failed, the expected result, and the checks that show it is fixed. Teammates can discuss that information on the same card.

## Describe and assign the work

1. Click a card on the board or in the list.
2. Click the description to edit it. Explain the result you need, then choose **Save**. The editor supports formatted text and a Markdown source mode.

3. Set **Status**, **Priority**, **Assignee**, and **Labels** in the properties. Add a due date or a parent when the work needs them.

4. If the project uses criteria, add specific checks under **Acceptance criteria**. Tick them when you have checked the result. The project's **Definition of done** can add shared completion checks.

## Discuss and connect the work

1. Find **Activity** below the main content. Use **Comments** to focus on discussion or **History** to see recorded changes.
2. Write a comment. Type `@` and select a project member to mention them. Use the editor's attachment control when you need to share a file.
3. To discuss a specific passage, select text in the saved description and choose **Comment**. Save or discard description edits before starting an inline thread.
4. In **Links**, click **Add link**, then add a relationship such as **Blocks**, **Blocked by**, or **Relates to**, then choose the other card.

## Tips and common mistakes

- Assignment and weekly commitment are separate. A person can plan work for their week without changing the assignee.
- Put the lasting explanation in the description. Use comments for the conversation around it.
- Criteria depend on project settings. An absent section does not mean your card has been deleted or damaged.
