# Notifications

## Follow the work that needs your attention

**Inbox** collects your in-app notifications. Use it to catch a mention, review an update or return to a conversation without checking every card.

For example, start your day with **Unread**, answer questions in **Mentions**, and move updates you have handled to **Done**.

## Read and sort your Inbox

1. Choose **Inbox** in the sidebar.
2. Choose **All**, **Unread** or **Mentions** to narrow the list.
3. Select a notification to preview it on a wide screen. Opening an unread notification marks it as read.

4. Use **Done** when you have dealt with an update. This removes the notification from Inbox, not the card or conversation.
5. Use **Snooze** to hide it until later. It returns unread at the chosen time.
6. Switch to **Snoozed** or **Done** to find notifications you put aside. You can return them to Inbox.

## Choose email notifications

Open your account **Settings** and select **E-mail**. Choose **Off**, **Instant** or **Daily digest**. The daily digest arrives at 08:00 in your selected time zone.

In-app notifications are always on. Email is optional and may be unavailable if the server administrator has disabled it.

## Tips and common mistakes

- **Mark all as read** clears unread markers. It does not move notifications to Done.
- On a wide screen, use **E** for Done, **H** for Snooze and **U** for Unread when a notification is selected. These keys do not apply while you are typing in an input.
- Instant email is limited to at most one message per issue every ten minutes.
- Click **Subscribe** on a card or a page to get its updates.
- Use **Watch** in the project header to follow a whole project. Choose **Not watching** (only issues you take part in or subscribe to), **New issues only**, or **All activity**.
