# Quick Start

Sprintree puts your work into projects and cards. A card is also called an **issue** in the app.

## Start with one small project

If your team is launching a website, create one project and add a few tasks you can finish this week. You can add more structure later. These first steps take about five minutes once you can access your email.

## Set up your first board

1. Sign in from the Sprintree sign-in page and follow the link sent to your email, or enter the six-digit code.
2. Open **Projects**, then **New project**. Enter a name and a **Key**, such as `WEB`. Your cards will have numbers such as `WEB-1`.
3. Choose **Shared** if you will invite teammates. **Private** is only for you. **Public** lets anyone who is signed in view it. People without an account see only what you allow as [guest access](https://sprintree.com/docs/public-projects). Create the project.

4. In your project, press `C` or choose **New issue** in the sidebar. Select **Task**, enter an **Issue title**, and choose **Create issue**. Try a concrete title such as “Write the home page introduction”.

5. Open the view menu in the project header and choose **Board**. Drag your card into **In progress** when you start working on it. Move it to **Done** when it is finished.
6. As the project owner, open **Project settings**, go to **Members**, and invite a teammate by email. See [Invitations](https://sprintree.com/docs/invitations) for the full invitation flow.

## Common mistakes

> [!TIP]
> Start with tasks. You can organize larger work into stories and epics later.

- Open a card to add its description, assignee, and due date. A title alone rarely explains the whole job.
- Choose visibility deliberately. A public project is visible beyond your invited team.

## Next: connect an AI agent

When your first cards are in place, connect an AI agent so it can read them and report back. See [Connect an AI agent](https://sprintree.com/docs/connect-an-ai-agent) and [Work with AI agents](https://sprintree.com/docs/work-with-ai-agents).
