Join a public project as a viewer so it is listed in list_projects and your sidebar and you can watch it. Any public project can be read by key without joining. A private, shared, archived or unknown key answers not found; joining again changes nothing (joined=false); someone the owner removed is refused. Needs the separate mcp:account scope (OAuth grant only, off by default; mcp:write does not include it). Leave with remove_member and your own username.

2026-10-06 — New write tool: join a public project as a viewer. list_projects now lists only the projects you are a member of plus featured ones, so a public project you were only reading stays out of it until you join.
