list_issue_commits

A tool of the Sprintree MCP server. All MCP docs · Back to the tool list

added 2026-10-03

List the commits that name an issue key in their message (any member or a viewer of a public project may read them), newest first: repository, short SHA, first line of the message, author and link. get_issue_details shows only the latest 5 in its code section: use this to read the rest. A commit of a repository that was disconnected or became inaccessible shows only its short SHA and the state `disconnected`. Answers are compact JSON; pass format="text" for a readable Markdown answer. Results are paged: if the answer has a cursor, call again with it (a missing cursor means the last page) — never assume the first page is everything.

  • cursorstringoptional
Cursor from `Next page` of an earlier result of this call (omit for the first page); pass it unchanged, with the same other arguments
  • formatenumoptional
Answer format: "json" (default) is one compact JSON document; "text" is a readable Markdown answer
    jsontext
  • keystringrequired
    Issue key, e.g. ITR-12
  • limitintegeroptional
How many commits per page (1–100, default 20)

Returns

One of these shapes, depending on the arguments:

Shape 1

  • commitsarray of object | nullrequired
  • countintegerrequired
  • limitintegerrequired

Shape 2

    Optional fields, when present

    • cursorstringoptional
    • notestringoptional
    • pageintegeroptional
    • pagesintegeroptional
    • totalintegeroptional
    • totalApproximatebooleanoptional
    • 2026-10-03 — New read tool: the commits that name an issue, newest first, paged (get_issue_details shows only the latest 5 in its code section).
    • 2026-10-04 — Claude Code 2.1.288+ (clientInfo claude-code): the text of a successful answer is itself up to 512 bytes, else "Result in structuredContent (N bytes)."; structuredContent and errors are unchanged. See /docs/mcp.
    • 2026-10-04 — format="text" now also answers structuredContent {"text": the Markdown} (it was the JSON document), so a client that reads only structuredContent gets the Markdown it asked for.
