Follow or stop following an issue (key) or a page (project and page number). Following needs a project member (a reader of a public project is told to join it first); stopping needs read access only. Subscribed, you are notified about comments and changes on it. An explicit choice overrides the automatic subscription that commenting or being assigned creates.

  • keystringoptional
Issue key (or project + page)
  • pageintegeroptional
    Page number in project
  • projectstringoptional
    Project key, with page
  • subscribedbooleanrequired
true to follow, false to stop following

Returns

  • keystringrequired
  • subscribedbooleanrequired
  • 2026-10-04 — Following (subscribed=true) needs a project member: a non-member who can read a public project is refused with "Join the project to follow it" (403). Stopping needs read access only.
  • 2026-10-08 — Pages: project and page (a number) instead of key, exactly one target.
  • 2026-10-03 — Also answers structuredContent (see outputSchema); a failed call adds structuredContent.error. Text unchanged. Details: /docs/mcp, "Structured results and errors".
  • 2026-10-04 — Claude Code 2.1.288+ (clientInfo claude-code): the text of a successful answer is itself up to 512 bytes, else "Result in structuredContent (N bytes)."; structuredContent and errors are unchanged. See /docs/mcp.
