Share progress with the right audience#
A project's visibility controls who can see it. Use Private for your own work, Shared for invited members, or Public when anyone signed in should be able to view it.
A team publishing a roadmap can make its project public and separately choose which content people without an account may read.
Change visibility#
- As the owner, open the project's Settings, then General.
- Under Visibility, choose Private, Shared or Public.
- Read the confirmation and confirm the change. Visibility saves separately from the other project fields.
Choose guest access#
Guest access means access for people without an account. It is available for public projects.
- Find Guest access below Visibility.
- Enable Pages or Issues and board for the content guests may read.
- Choose whether guests can read Comments and People's names.
- Enable Let search engines index it only if you want that guest-readable content to appear in search results.
Tips and common mistakes#
- Public visibility and guest access are separate choices. Check both before sharing a link with someone who has no account.
- Rules and decisions remain restricted. See Memory Drawer.
- A signed-in visitor can click Join project on an ordinary public project to become a viewer. Joining does not give editor access.
- Featured projects are read-only showcases and have no Join button.
- Guest switches save immediately. Comments and indexing need readable pages or issues to be useful.
