Search helps you find work by its title, description, or discussion. The command palette also opens cards, pages, projects, and common actions.
Find the conversation you remember#
If you remember a discussion about a checkout error but not the card number, search the project. Comment results link to the matching comment on its card.
Search a project#
- Open the project and press
Ctrl+Kon Windows or Linux, orCmd+Kon macOS. The Command palette opens. - Type your search. While you are in a project, the palette starts with that project's scope. Choose its search action to open the full project results.
- On the results page, edit the search field at the top (its empty placeholder reads "Search" and your project name) to refine your query. Use the available filters to narrow results.
- Click a result. A title result opens the card. A comment result opens the card at that comment.
Jump directly to a card#
- Open the command palette with
Ctrl+KorCmd+K. - Type a complete card key, such as
WEB-12. - Choose Open WEB-12 to open that card directly. This action appears when the palette is searching the current project. If it says All projects, press
Tabor click the scope button first, or open the palette from inside the project.
Tips and common mistakes#
- In the command palette, type some text, then press
Tabto switch between the current project and all projects. With an empty search box,Tabonly moves focus. You can also click the scope button, which shows where you are searching. - Type at least two characters for general issue search.
- Press
/on a board or list to focus its Search issues filter. That narrows the current view. It is different from the full project search page. - Search only returns content your account is allowed to access.
